The MAGIC LETTER LAMBDA
May. 16th, 2010 11:05 amMiranda learned her alphabet
In infant school one day,
But never could remember
Which letter followed K;
And when the teacher asked her,
By accident, Miranda
Forgot the L, and uttered
The MAGIC LETTER LAMBDA.
Miranda had a picture book
To teach her ABC,
With apples drawn beside the A
And bees beside the B.
But MAGIC LETTER LAMBDA
On page thirteen abided:
Its picture blank, so readers
Could draw what they decided.
The MAGIC LETTER LAMBDA
Looks rather like a tent.
And when it's said, you'll wonder
Where other letters went.
For LAMBDA is so hungry
It swallows up one letter
And every time you see it
It turns to something better.
And when the word is spoken
You'll hear a different word.
For MAGIC LETTER LAMBDA
Has eaten what you'd heard,
And changed it and replaced it
With something else instead.
Enchanted letters started
Each word Miranda said.
