Some heraldry

CUHaGS has a beautiful and sensible shield, combining as it does references to the Society's colours and the University, but the crest always makes me want to say "HEY YOU GUYS, I FOUND A CHICKEN IN THE LIBRARY." (Yes, I do know why it's there.)
Recent grants include:
a doctor who plays rugby (oh, very nice).
a commander in the navy (from the "almost impossible to blazon" department). I really like this one, except that a mermaid-elephant just makes me laugh, which presumably isn't the idea. Also notable for the three colours in the mantling: I have no idea why, since there's no gold on the shield or the torse.
