We're only making plans for Nigel
We want what's best for the nation
He's only making manifestos
That start and end with immigration
And if young Nigel says he's happy
He must be happy
He must be happy in his views

We're only making plans for Nigel
And countless other rich white men
We're only making plans for Nigel
A long long way from Number Ten
And if young Nigel says he's happy
He must be happy
He must be happy in his views
Nigel is quite outspoken
But he likes to speak
Take care which languages you use
Nigel is happy in his views
We're only making plans for Nigel...

random memory: On the first evening I moved into a college house, the grad warden was explaining things to me, ending with:

GW: Oh, and there was a guy named [name remembered but withheld] who lived here a couple of years ago, and stuff still comes for him sometimes...
Me: Right...
GW: Don't open it. He had some... *specialist* interests

Today in the street I met a Christian who had a stall; he was shouty and he had a sign to tell people how bad they were.

I also met a Muslim who had a stall: he discussed things with me politely, gave me a Qu'ran, and put it in a gift bag.

Brother and sister Christians, we have a lot to learn.

And while we're on the subject-- how many churches do we have in the middle of marketplaces and shopping streets which stand locked while people walk by? Would it be so difficult to ask people to staff a stall at the gate, to talk to anyone who needed to talk and to give away books if people asked? How can we make this happen in churches across the country?
