More Joule: UI changes

Briefly, since I'm busy:

Since it was a fairly trivial fix, I implemented a two-stage system in Joule last night, as suggested here: there's just a username box on the front page, and it takes you to an intermediate page where you pick the service.  Most people bookmark their chart page and don't use the controls, and I was aiming to make the controls simpler even at the possible cost of a few extra seconds for a first-time user.  I'm asking for feedback for or against this idea.  I've only heard one reply so far and they didn't like it.  What do you think?

I presume you meant the anonymous comment on that entry.

They took advantage of the fact that "LiveJournal" was the site that was selected by default in the drop-down list... a Dreamwidth/Twitter/Identi.ca/Anything-that's-not-LiveJournal needs two steps, too.

So my thoughts are: see what percentage of requests are for LiveJournal charts.

If the percentage is high, then show a LiveJournal chart by default after someone enters the name, with a title saying something like "This is for the *LiveJournal* user 'bla'. You can also see the charts for the [[Twitter]] · [[Identi.ca]] · [[etc. etc.]] users 'bla'."

If the percentage is moderate or low, or seems to be decreasing, keep the interface as-is (no default site, people always have to select).
